We are exposed to UVA, UVB and HEV Blue Light every day. From exposure on vacation, to walking around the city, on our faces through the window of our offices, via our digital devices, on cloudy days, during the winter months and through our clothes.

Driven by increased education on the aging effects of sun and light exposure; SPF has become a permanent fixture in our every day skincare regimens. Although sun protection is essential, our skin needs help to fortify and repair itself from this unavoidable every day exposure.

UVA energy from the sun penetrates deep into the dermis, causing damage to the skin’s structure, known as Photoaging. Photoaging contributes to accelerated aging factors such as collagen and elastin degradation, pigmentation, discolouration and textural irregularities. 

UVB energy penetrates and damages the outermost layers of the skin with overexposure causing sunburn and whilst UVA rays are moderately less intense, they also contribute to sunburn. 

HEV Blue Light is emitted from our digital devices and damages the skin, causing wrinkles, rough texture, and brown spots. Penetrating deeper into the skin than UVA light, it can generate free radicals that cause skin cells to break down collagen and elastin. This process is known as oxidative stress and can cause accelerated aging.
